Good Pizza, Great Pizza

Good Pizza, Great Pizza is a restaurant management game created by TapBlaze, available on iOS, Android, Fire OS, Nintendo Switch, macOS, and Windows. In the game, players take on the role of a pizza chef, or “Ovenist,” aiming to become the best pizza maker on the block by taking and fulfilling customer orders.

Gameplay

Players manage a pizza shop, located across the street from a competitor, and serve customers with unique personalities and specific orders. The game emphasizes accuracy and speed in the pizza-making process, which involves several steps: preparing dough, choosing a sauce, adding ingredients, baking, slicing, boxing, and delivering the pizza to the customer. As the story unfolds, players encounter a rival, Alicante, who occasionally visits the shop.

Earnings from pizza sales can be reinvested into the business for upgrades like new ingredients, improved equipment, or repairs. Players must carefully manage ingredient usage to maximize profits. Some ingredients are available for purchase, while others can be harvested from plants that players must water daily.

The kitchen lacks ingredient labels, so players need to memorize the appearance of various toppings as more ingredients become available. This adds an element of challenge, relying on memory and quick recognition skills.

The game features over 100 unique customers, each with a different personality. As the game progresses, the story develops through customer interactions. Some customers, including a pair of recurring homeless individuals, request free food and may later assist the shop if their requests are granted. Others may not have enough money to cover their order, leaving the player to decide whether to accept or decline the request.

Customer orders vary in complexity, from straightforward requests to vague or tricky ones. Orders can be personalized based on the number of toppings, cheese, sauce, or even the number of slices. Occasionally, customers may make unusual requests, such as asking for nothing on their pizza. Players must learn to interpret these orders to avoid mistakes, as incorrect pizzas lead to refunds. However, if unsure, players can ask the customer for clarification or check the receipt. Satisfied customers may leave tips, providing an additional reward for successful orders.
