Ingredients:
- 1 pound frozen pizza dough, thawed and risen
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup store-bought pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
Directions:
- Preheat Oven: Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 500°F.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle.
- Heat the Skillet: Once the skillet is preheated, carefully remove it from the oven. Pour two-thirds of the olive oil into the skillet.
- Assemble the Pizza: Gently transfer the dough into the skillet, pressing it along the edges of the pan. Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the dough, making sure to reach the edges. Layer the pepperoni slices over the sauce, then scatter the mozzarella pearls on top.
- Bake the Pizza: Brush the exposed edges of the dough with the remaining olive oil. Bake the pizza on the bottom rack of the oven for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Finish and Serve: Transfer the cooked pizza to a cutting board, sprinkle with torn basil leaves, slice, and serve.
